Located at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the facility covers 26,000 square feet and can process more than 1,000 pieces per hour, DHL said. It complements a 42,000 square-foot DHL service center south of downtown Seattle on East Marginal Way. Built with an investment of $4m, the new center was driven primarily by heavy demand and growth in international shipping by local businesses, as well as technology and software companies and retailers based in Washington State, according to DHL. The new service center houses more than 50 employees, including management, clerical staff, couriers and sales personnel. It can handle a variety of shipments, including international small parcels as well as palletized and container freight.
