A new report on growth jobs and industries from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) indicates that roles taking care of an aging population, developing technology and servicing new energy sources are expected to see big increases.
Indeed.com - the job search engine that has posted more than 20 million jobs on its platform - did an analysis of the latest BLS numbers, outlining a number of positions that are expected to grow quickly, as well as some that are making slow gains.
The two jobs expected to see the largest percentage of relative growth are Solar Photovoltaic Installers and Wind Turbine Service Technicians, which are forecast to grow 105.3 percent and 96.1 percent, respectively. But both of those jobs employ only a small number of Americans — less than 9,000 workers each, as of last year.
Home health aides — who provide the disabled or elderly with personal services like bathing, dressing and grooming — comes in third on the list and is expected to grow 46.7 percent over the next decade. That job employs about 814,000 people.
