The tool is designed to identify the most efficient and cost-effective supply-chain modeling and inventory strategies. It now comes equipped with a network optimization and simulation service. Users can determine the best time and place to perform a wide range of activities required to optimize assembly, configuration and packaging of generic base products or components. The service offers the option of using design and modeling software tools to expedite the analytical process and ensure more precise evaluation of large amounts of critical data and operating variables, ModusLink said. The tools also perform simulation and testing to predict how well a suggested network design will perform in real-world environments. The software synchronizes multiple elements of a supply chain, including sourcing, materials and content management, light manufacturing, fulfillment, e-business, returns management and asset disposition, the vendor said.
