Terra Technology, a seller of demand-sensing and optimization software for consumer products companies, has opened an office in Madrid, Spain. The location will help to support the company's growth in Europe and Asia. Heading it up is general manager Paul Conyngham; activities there will include sales, consulting and marketing. The company said it selected Madrid because of its proximity to many consumer products companies, ease of travel throughout Europe and favorable climate. In the last year, Terra Technology has doubled the number of employees. Its software applies pattern recognition mathematics to daily streams of data, including point of sale, channel inventory and shipping history, to generate a prediction of future demand.
