Cadec Global has teamed up with Procuro to devise a system for real-time management of the cold chain by food distributors. Cadec sells software for fleet management; its Mobius TTS system now integrates with Procuro PIMM, allowing users to track and validate the temperature of product throughout the supply chain. In addition, users of PIMM can have all other Mobius-generated driver-tracking information delivered directly into their PIMM interfaces, without the need for additional hardware and communications cost. Mobius helps truck fleets to monitor driver behavior, improve safety and cut costs, according to Cadec. Its TempTracker module for in-route monitoring gathers real-time temperature data from trailers via wireless sensor technology. Procuro's PIMM cold-chain management system tracks temperatures within supplier sites, in-transit trailers, distribution centers and at the restaurant level. The combination of Cadec and PIMM technology provides users with the ability to monitor both tethered and untethered trailers. They automatically receive alerts from PIMM when temperatures stray from set tolerances.
