Is the whole DEI initiative in business dead?
Diversity, equity and inclusion had a moment in the world of business. But since the coming of the Trump Administration, DEI has been under attack — to the point where many companies have backed away from their commitments to DEI, at least by that name. So where are we now? On this episode, we examine the DEI landscape — such as it is — with the help of Michael Posner, director of the Center for Business and Human Rights at NYU Stern School of Business. (It was the first program of its kind to be set up at a major business school.) He discusses where companies are today with regard to DEI and accountability programs, whether they’ve backed away from the concept entirely, or are proceeding under different nomenclature. Turns out that DEI, or some variation on the concept, isn’t quite as moribund as the headlines have led us to believe. “This is very much a part of the future,” Posner says. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
