I.D. Systems, Inc. has expanded the wireless communication options available to clients for the management of forklifts and other powered industrial trucks. In addition to radio frequency identification (RFID) capability, the company's newest systems incorporate a high-security, standard Wi-Fi option which enables vehicles to communicate over most existing wireless networks. The new Wi-Fi capability incorporates the latest network security protocols, including military standards. The product is designed with multiple features to maximize wireless communication reliability and ensure the preservation of critical system data, the vendor said. The offering includes an internal antenna on each vehicle communication module. The system can react to vehicle events and preserve all data, even if Wi-Fi network connectivity is interrupted for any reason, and automatically reconnect to the network without operator involvement.
