Billionaire Gautam Adani’s port unit is teaming up with U.S.-based Kaleris to deploy an AI-driven software to operate the company’s 15 container terminals across nine ports.
The multiyear agreement will see the American transport software provider deploy its terminal operating system and AI-augmented container handling and optimization solutions, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. said in a statement on June 16.
The company will invest up to $100 million in two phases to accelerate automation through the Kaleris deal as part of its plan to spend $850 million on technology and decarbonization, it said.
The alliance reflects Adani’s bet on AI to drive growth. The group has committed $100 billion to develop 5 gigawatts of green energy-powered data centers by 2035. The tech push also aligns with Adani Ports’ goal of handling one billion tonnes of cargo annually by 2030.
