FreightScan, LLC has integrated a software application known as DimPro 2.0 into the automated dimensioning system within its suite of cargo-scanning products. DimPro 2.0, an updated version of DimGen 1.8, allows customers to capture, record, display and transfer dimensions and images associated with shipment waybills. DimGen 1.8 supported FreightScan's FS100 and FL1000 scanning units when they were launched in November of 2007 and 2008, respectively. The newest application also includes Global Sentry, a Web-based remote-monitoring unit which analyzes, diagnoses and updates existing FS100 and FL1000 systems. According to the vendor, DimPro 2.0 offers a more streamlined client interface while reducing the training time for a FreightScan system to one hour or less. The FS100 consists of a small overhead scanner which automates the capture of measurements and calculation of dimensional weight without interrupting workflow. The FL1000 mounts directly to the mast assembly of a forklift, and scans freight at any location within a loading dock or warehouse while the freight is still on the forklift.
