GT Nexus has added several features to its Global Trade and Logistics Portal for suppliers. Additions include scan-and-pack label creation, purchase order management and supply chain finance management. The new capabilities allow suppliers to take advantage of an existing data network which connects GT Nexus's larger importer customers with more than 7,500 supplier organizations around the world. The GT Nexus portal serves as a central trade and logistics hub, collecting information from the time that purchase orders are cut, through delivery and final payment. Suppliers can now use the same system to manage multiple consumer orders, print compliant packing labels and gain access to new finance mechanisms. Growth of the GT Nexus Portal has been driven by large importers, who are using the system to automate their purchase-to-pay processes with global suppliers, the vendor said. Starting with the receipt of digitized purchase orders, suppliers can use a core set of data on GT Nexus to create such trade documents as packing lists and commercial invoices, which can be used for various credit and payment programs with trade banks.
