Actio Corp., a vendor of software supporting environmental compliance through the management of information on supply-chain materials, has released the latest version of its Actio Gatekeeper software. The tool offers a process-workflow platform for requesting, screening, authorizing and purchasing materials. The update contains new functionality which improves the ability of manufacturers to implement and manage Six Sigma quality initiatives and product lifecycle management efforts, while controlling global product stewardship. New functionality includes an up-to-date interface with user feedback incorporated into the design; updated e-mail engine for customized auto-connecting with suppliers and customers; supplier data collection during the approval process; screening of materials and ingredients against hundreds of global regulation lists; enhanced grid reporting; "snap-ons" to enterprise resource planning, product lifecycle management and portals such as Microsoft Sharepoint; optional simultaneous permissions for multiple departments or entities, and a secure central database for storage of all collected data. Actio's applications are available under a software-as-a-service model.
