A new partnership between Pervasive Software, Inc. and Melissa Data is intended to help companies improve their data-quality efforts. Pervasive is a vendor of hosted and on-premises software for data management. Melissa provides data-quality tools with an emphasis on address and phone verification, postal encoding and data enhancements. Under their new deal, Pervasive gets "out-of-the-box" connectivity to Melissa's data-quality offerings. In the process, customers of both companies obtain access to data-quality and data-integration capabilities. They will be able to streamline their operations, reduce waste and utilize automated data flows for faster decision-making, according to Ray Melissa, president and founder of Melissa Data. His company markets a line of software, databases, components and services to help companies improve their U.S., Canadian and international contact information. Pervasive offers an embeddable database engine known as PSQL, supporting data management and integration, business-to-business exchange and analytics.
