Infor has developed Infor ION, the vendor's suite of services to aid companies in application integration, business process management and shared data reporting. The tool gives mid-market companies the ability to more quickly and easily organize, analyze and collaborate on information throughout their operations, Infor said. Scheduled for availability in the fourth quarter of this year, the suite will offer four services: Infor ION Desk, Connect, Event Management and Workflow. Desk offers an intuitive, browser-based interface for configuring all Infor ION Services. Connect allows for document-based communication and the secure sharing of data. Event Management monitors the status of tasks against promised completion targets or service-level agreements. Workflow enables automated document routing and approvals with multiple Infor and non-Infor applications. In another company announcement, Infor has selected Microsoft as its preferred technology and tools provider for the vendor's software. Using Microsoft tools and technology, next-generation Infor software applications will deploy a graphical interface running on Microsoft Sharepoint 2010. Other Microsoft products and technologies that will be integrated with Infor applications include Silverlight, SQL Server, Reporting Services, Single Sign-On and Windows Server.
