Averitt Express, a motor carrier and supply-chain-management services provider, has added online invoices to its suite of tools available on the company's website, www.averittexpress.com. The new function gives customers round-the-clock access to all open invoices. They can list all such documents or search by date, pickup date, delivery date, PRO number, bill of lading number or purchase-order number. Specific invoice and supporting documentation can be delivered as a single PDF file via e-mail. Automatic and regular updates ensure that the online invoice is always the most current one. The result, claimed Averitt, is faster invoice availability and reduced billing-cycle time. The company is also developing an e-mail invoicing service which will allow customers to opt out of receiving paper invoices. The service should be available within the next few months, it said. Averitt's services reach more than 100 countries.
