RedPrairie Corp. has added voice-enabling technology to the 2011.1 release of its Warehouse Management software. The vendor will support VoiceArtisan, developed by Vocollect as part of the latter's new Next Generation Vocollect Voice offering. According to RedPrairie, the tool will allow its customers to draw on an expanded portfolio of distribution workflow systems from Vocollect. VoiceArtisan will support multiple voice-enabled workflows, including directed, manual, cluster-picking and pick and pass selection; putaway; replenishment; loading and cycle counting. Vocollect is a business unit of Intermec, Inc. Its VoiceWorld Suite integrates with all major warehouse-management and enterprise resource planning systems. RedPrairie's applications support workforce, inventory and transportation processes.
