Tecsys Inc. has added topVOX, a provider of voice-driven picking technology, to its warehouse-management and warehouse-automation offerings. According to Tecsys, topVOX is the only manufacturer with a hardware-independent voice application running in complex logistics operations worldwide. The use of standard mobile devices from different manufacturers with special speech-recognition software makes voice and traditional radio-frequency operations interchangeable on the same device, Tecsys said. The technology allows for hands-free operation. Applications within Tecsys's warehouse-management software include a visual logistics feature, which instantly communicates operator instructions to material handlers via visual cues. The software can be accessed from any browser-based device.
