LeanLogistics is making its LeanDex Transportation Index available to customers as a self-service application. Purchasers can now utilize the index without having to subscribe to other LeanLogistics technologies. LeanDex tracks transportation rates for dry van and refrigerated shipments throughout the LeanLogistics transportation network, which is used by more than 51,000 shippers, suppliers and trading partners interacting with thousands of carriers. The tool provides shippers and carriers with snapshots and trends for rates on any North American lane. Companies can identify those lanes where rates are higher, negotiate rate services, and optimize their networks, the vendor said. The self-serve, Web-based application can help users to compare rates against those of other companies, and determine the cost and service tradeoffs associated with changing transportation strategies. The index also helps them in negotiating with customers in regions to which they have not previously shipped.
