NetSuite Inc. is partnering with CA Technologies to improve security for its customers. NetSuite is a provider of cloud-based financials and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. CA Technologies is a vendor of software and services for information-technology management. The new initiative extends and strengthens the NetSuite Two-Factor Authorization security component with technology based on CA Arcot WebFort, a tool for user authentication. Available immediately, the product provides security as a service across ERP, customer relationship management, electronic commerce and security applications. According to NetSuite, multi-factor authentication helps to reduce the risk of identity theft and online fraud by requiring a second factor, in addition to username and password, to access Web resources. The NetSuite and CA Arcot WebFort approach supports cryptographic tokens adhering to industry's Open Authentication (OATH) standard.
