The update includes new interactive map features, a fastest-routing determination, and RouteSync functionality for route compliance. According to ALK, the application includes an enhanced ability to interact with the PC-Miler RouteMap for more effective route visualization and customization. Related new features include the option to view satellite imagery, new styles to customize the look and feel of maps, and additional zoom levels to allow for more granular framing of the map window. Drag routing and via point management help to customize and enable the creation of preferred routes. Users have access to real-time and historical traffic information, provided by Inrix, to locate the fastest route to destination. RouteSync ensures operational consistency between dispatched and actual routes, so that trucks can drive the miles that are being billed. Routes and preferences are sent from PC-Miler in the back office directly to the latest version of ALK's CoPilot Truck navigation software in the cab.
