Honeywell Performance Materials and Technology has two divisions with two different SAP platforms, but one global trade compliance group that oversees and manages all trade compliance for the company, says Jamie Reis, IT project manager. "We needed an out-of-the box solution that could integrate with both SAP instances and Amber Road's trade automation did that."
Honeywell currently uses the solution for export compliance, screening the vendor master data in SAP against denied-party and export control lists and generating all export documentation.
"We licensed the entire global trade management package and are looking to use more functionality in the future, especially with regard to imports and trade agreements," says Reis, "We also want to use more functionality on the supply chain side, to bring our carriers and forwarders on board."
Honeywell Performance Materials and Technology operates in countries more than 50 countries and we ship "almost everywhere," he says. "The automation of trade content provides a lot of advantages for companies like ours because of the geographic breadth of our operations. Being able to automatically screen customers and vendors is a major benefit as is the visibility that we are able to give our global trade compliance group."
