The deal automates the transmission of load information. When a dispatcher creates a load, all relevant data is automatically sent to Rand McNally's in-cab device. The software then processes all confirmations, arrivals, departures and other updates sent back by the driver. Global positioning system (GPS) tracking provides visibility over the fleet. Load information sent to the driver's in-cab device includes origin; address, city and state; destination; goods information such as weight, pieces, and pallets; scheduled pickup date, and delivery date and time. The technology enables the driver to send and receive items such as actual arrival and departure times, bill of lading number, actual goods, and quantities broken down into weight, pallet, pieces and trailer number.
