The tool allows customers to calculate emissions of carbon dioxide, sulphur oxide and nitrogen oxide for container and less-than-containerload movements from door to door. It is available on the company’s Web page. The calculator was built on the European Standard EN 16258. Its underlying methodology is based on the Clean Cargo Working Group standards for CO2 emissions, allowing users to determine the CO2 footprint for any trade lane per gram, 20-foot equivalent unit or kilometer. The GSCC provides real-time CO2 emission reporting, a calculation model for strategic carbon-footprint simulation and a high-level overview of CO2 emissions for sea and intermodal transport.
