Echo is a provider of transportation and supply-chain management services. Xpress is a transportation brokerage with headquarters in Frankfort, Ill. Effective immediately, Xpress will begin doing business as Echo Global Logistics, Inc. Founded in 1999, Xpress is a non-asset-based provider of less-than-truckload and full truckload services, with a regional focus on the Midwest. Steve Rotondi, founder of Xpress and a 20-year veteran of the transportation industry, will assume the title of regional vice president. All existing management and employees will remain with Echo subsequent to the acquisition, the company said. Echo maintains a proprietary, Web-based technology platform which compiles and analyzes data from a network of more than 30,000 transportation providers. It serves clients in multiple industries, including manufacturing, construction, consumer products and retail.
