ILOG, Inc., a vendor of supply-chain planning and optimization software, has created a certification program for its ILOG Business Rules Management System (BRMS). The move is intended to broaden the company's expertise in BRMS products, while providing customers with access to certified IT experts in that area. According to ILOG, certification ensures a consistent level of product knowledge among practitioners. By introducing an objective measure for evaluating a practitioner's product expertise, the program allows customers, partners and consultants to develop key ILOG product and methodology skills. For customers, certification ensures a consistent level of product knowledge among employees and service providers. For practitioners, it enhances recognition for specialized knowledge and dedication to professional development. The program has three levels of certification. Bronze certification demonstrates that the practitioner has a basic grasp of the key concepts covered in the JRules 6 Developer training offered by ILOG. Silver certification shows that the practitioner has a deep understanding of ILOG JRules 6 and has used it in one real application. Gold certification recognizes that the practitioner is an expert ILOG JRules 6 user, with mastery of advanced concepts and comprehensive knowledge of the product's application programming interfaces. Pearson VUE will administer the various levels of the program independently, through a network of more than 4,000 testing centers worldwide.
