Confidex, a vendor of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, has introduced Confidex Casey, a new EPC Class 1, Generation 2-compliant RFID label. The product is designed especially for use in areas where RFID labels are difficult to apply, including plastic or corrugated boxes, fruits and vegetables, and liquid bottles. The new technology complements Confidex's offering of hard tags and specialty labels with UHF Gen 2 labels, the company said. Confidex Casey features a wide-band antenna design and water-resistant, synthetic-face paper, which can show visual item numbers, barcodes, company logos or other types of, customized information. Confidex RFID tags have been used in a wide variety of applications, including the identification of information-technology assets, vehicles, railcars and reusable transit items. The company is based in Finland.
