Fluensee has released AssetTrack 4.0, software for tracking and managing assets using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. Enhanced features of the new version include on-demand, real-time asset inventory and integration to Google Maps. The tool is 100-percent browser-based, allowing companies to use a single platform for improved locating, monitoring and management of business assets such as inventory, vehicles, furniture, tools, lab equipment and the contents of data centers. AssetTrack uses all types of automatic identification technologies, including active and passive RFID, GPS, sensors and barcodes, the vendor said. Users can now determine the precise location of their moving assets with the help of Google Maps. The application details alerts that are associated with the assets on the map, informing users of asset status and condition. The functionality supports and extends asset visibility to mobility-based systems. AssetTrack 4.0 provides users with the real-time location, status and condition of a given asset with a single click. It also supplies instant reports that help companies to comply with internal audits and industry regulations. They can compare inventory at a given location against inventory at a remote site. The new version allows customers to perform physical inventories, audits and asset searches in the field. AssetTrack 4.0 supports a wide range of handheld platforms, including rugged industrial passive RFID readers, mobile active RFID readers and Windows mobile handsets.
