SAP AG has devised a new version of the SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services application. The tool is part of the vendor's BusinessObjects governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software suite. In combination with SAP's BusinessObjects Risk Management application, it automates regulatory compliance across numerous trade processes, such as logistics and order fulfillment. In the process, said SAP, it helps companies to mitigate trade risk across their global supply chains. The GRC tools give customers updated status information on key aspects of logistics and order fulfillment, including supplier and customer service, cross-border trade and international trade regulations. The technology also helps companies to determine whether their suppliers are Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certified as safe and transparent. Customers are notified if any issues arise, so that they can minimize potential supply-chain disruptions and expedite the worldwide flow of goods. The GRC suite allows for the establishment of key risk indicators (KRIs) which measure and monitor aspects of an order, to help ensure that deadlines are met. The KRIs estimate the financial impact of various risk factors, demonstrating how risk vulnerability can affect a company's bottom line.
