ACE is a key element in CBP's initiative to provide an electronic "single window" I.T. system by the end of 2016. ACE will become the single window, the primary system through which the trade community will report imports and exports. As a result, manual processes will be streamlined and automated, paper will be eliminated and the international trade community will be able to comply with U.S. laws and regulations more easily and efficiently, SAP said. SAP GTS helps to support export and import management, screening and embargo, license and preference determination, foreign-trade zone and other Customs procedures. The application is available in an end-to-end version, and customers can also acquire subsets independently, depending on their requirements. The latest version of SAP GTS optimizes global trade-management processes to take advantage of the SAP HANA platform, the company said.
