QuestaWeb, Inc., a vendor of global trade management (GTM) software, has released two new products, the Guaranteed Importer and Exporter Software as a Service (Saas) Edition, and its Platinum Subscription Service, or Operations as a Service (OaaS) model. The applications were designed for importers and exporters of all sizes, as well as medium to large customs brokers and freight forwarders. QuestaWeb's Guaranteed Importer and Exporter SaaS editions provide users with GTM capabilities without the need for software purchases. For a setup charge and monthly fee, the vendor will grant subscribers full Web access to the software. In addition, QuestaWeb is guaranteeing that, should the vendor ever cease to exist, SaaS customers would receive the software to which they subscribe, along with related source codes, at no additional charge. If an SaaS customer decides to purchase the software after the first contract period, QuestaWeb will offer subscribers deep discounts on the purchase. The OaaS offering, Platinum Subscription Service, allows importers and exporters to outsource the entire administration of their QuestaWeb GTM system. New customers get access to GTM technology without assuming day-to-day system-maintenance responsibilities. Existing customers can also take advantage of the economies of scale offered by a provider of outsourced system maintenance, the vendor said.
