Epicor Software Corp. has developed a new version of its Epicor Retail Business Intelligence application. Version 2.0 features an enhanced user interface which supports streamlined and intuitive information access, along with an extended data model which covers a broader range of retail operations. The update also supports the ability to integrate customer-defined external data elements. Retails can analyze information and gauge performance across a broad range of data streams. Epicor Retail BI 2.0 includes a retail data model based on Microsoft business intelligence tools. Using a data warehouse and cube-optimized for queries, it supports custom reporting with automatic drill downs, analytical capabilities and dashboards to monitor business metrics. In another company announcement, Epicor has introduced Epicor Retail Mobile Marketing. The tool provides an interactive, personalized marketing channel to target mobile consumers. Retailers can deliver customized messages, coupons and promotions to mobile device users. According to Epicor, Mobile Marketing encourages customers to interact with the store environment, strengthening brand and customer loyalty. The technology can be used in-house by retailers to support SMS text messaging campaigns, distribute mobile coupons and support a wide range of additional types of promotions, the vendor said.
