Epicor Software Corp. has developed an on-demand version of its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for manufacturers, known as Epicor 9. Designed for job shops and small entities, Epicor Manufacturing Express Edition is offered via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model. According to Epicor, it reduces IT complexity, enables users to get the system up and running quickly, and lowers operating costs. The tool's multi-tenant architecture ensures that the smallest manufacturer can benefit from a comprehensive ERP system delivered via the "cloud," the vendor added. Elements of Epicor Express include customer relationship management; financial management; production, product and material management; business intelligence; business process management, and the Epicor ICE business architecture.
