Epicor Software Corp. has released the 2010 version of Epicor IT Service Management (ITSM), along with an enhanced version of Epicor ITSM Business Intelligence. Epicor ITSM provides a set of service-management features in support of key IT processes. ITSM Business Intelligence allows IT departments to gather, analyze and share key reporting metrics. The new products make extensive use of the latest technology from Microsoft. The core application features a service-oriented architecture (SOA) built using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework. The ITSM self-service portal uses Microsoft SharePoint technologies, while ITSM Business Intelligence draws on Microsoft SQL Service Analysis Services and Reporting Services. Epicor ITSM 2010 introduces new dashboard functionality to aid in the setting up of charts and gauges based on ITSM data and external sources. In a related development, Epicor has partnered with Hitachi Data Systems Corp. to integrate the latter's IT Operations Analyzer with Epicor's ITSM application. As an independent software vendor of Hitachi, Epicor becomes the first IT Service Desk provider to integrate its business software with the Hitachi IT Operations Analyzer.
