TRAC Intermodal has expanded its TRAC Connect product to three additional locations: the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, the U.S. Gulf and South Atlantic. TRAC Connect is a Web-based marketplace providing the intermodal drayage community with rental, leasing and related services for marine chassis on a short- to medium-term basis. TRAC Intermodal has been selected as the preferred chassis services provider for CMA CGM, which recently discontinued its practice of providing chassis to motor carriers in the U.S. Under the new chassis-management plan, equipment supply becomes the responsibility of the motor carriers. Those servicing CMA CGM shipments with TRAC Intermodal chassis must have an interchange agreement in place with TRAC in advance of the rollout dates for various cities. TRAC Connect has set up operations in New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Buffalo, Savannah, Charleston, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Charlotte, Mobile, Tampa, Los Angeles, Oakland, Houston and Dallas. It plans to expand into Chicago, the Ohio Valley and other Midwest cities in February of 2011, other West Coast cities in March, and Norfolk in the summer.
