Xata Corp. has become a value-added reseller for SkyBitz, a vendor of remote asset-management systems. The deal allows Xata to offer a set of asset-tracking tools for fleet management. SkyBitz specializes in decision-making systems for companies with unpowered assets, such as trailers managed by private and for-hire fleets. Its products are compatible with both Xata Turnpike, a system that runs on drivers' cell phones, smartphones and tablet computers, and XataNet, a tool to aid fleets in achieving continuous improvement. They are offered via one-way and two-way satellites, as well as terrestrial and wireless networks. SkyBitz offers 50 standard reports, including stops and starts, position history, idle time and battery life. All reports are downloadable for import into spreadsheets. Custom reports are also available. Xata offers a variety of automated fleet-management software to the trucking industry.
