DAP Technologies has introduced the M1000, a small, rugged handheld computer designed for retail and warehouse environments. About the size of a mobile phone, the unit is equipped with voice capability and barcode scanners. It supports inventory control, picking and packing. The M1000 scans barcodes and allows for manual data input via a 12-key numeric keypad or 2.8-inch color touchscreen with LED backlighting. It provides one-touch access to 1D laser or 1D and 2D imager scanning. It ships voice-ready and is equipped with Windows CE 6.0 Professional, a Marvell PXA310 624 MHZ processor, 256 MB flash memory and 128 MB RAM. The unit supports a variety of communications technologies, including WWAN GPRS/GSM 3G, WLAN with Summit 802.11 b/g radio and Bluetooth.
