Ariba Inc., a vendor of software for managing procurement and strategic sourcing, has acquired b-process, reportedly France's largest electronic invoice network. The target company is certified by an independent accounting firm to handle value-added tax and invoicing regulatory requirements in 24 countries. It provides an end-to-end invoicing data-automation process. B-process's technology accepts invoices in any type of structured format files, including positional, electronic data interchange, extensible markup language and PDF. Buyers and suppliers can quickly connect to the b-process commerce network and begin processing invoices immediately, according to Ariba. The new offerings have been integrated into the Ariba Invoice Management suite of applications.
