The location is intended to create a foundation for growth while supporting the company's network of global operations, CaroTrans said. Container freight stations will be set up in Paris and Lyon, France to serve local shippers. CaroTrans provides door-to-door distribution for inland moves throughout France and Europe. Initially, the Le Havre office will support full containerload (FCL) and less-than-containerload (LCL) exports from the U.S., with export service from France to the U.S. to follow. In another company development, CaroTrans has launched two direct LCL export services from New York and Houston to Cartagena, Colombia. Freight from the Northeast, Middle Atlantic and Ohio is being consolidated in New York and shipped direct to Cartagena in eight days. With the addition of the new routes to CaroTrans's existing Miami service, the company intends to serve bilateral trade demand generated by the conclusion of the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
