Version 8.0 of Supply Chain Guru incorporates Inventory Guru, an inventory-optimization tool that allows companies to analyze and classify demand, factor in all aspects of inventory, and simulate real-world behavior. Another capability within Supply Chain Guru 8.0, multi-objective optimization, enables customers to address business challenges that include multiple competing goals. It provides insight into any two of 19 available objectives, then builds a trade-off curve so that analysts can visualize the interaction between different options. Service-area mapping displays service distances to various geographic regions, using shaded areas bounded by actual street-level details. In addition, transportation backhaul optimization is now available as part of the vehicle route-optimization module in Transportation Guru and Supply Chain Guru. The tool identifies the most efficient inbound pickups based on the last stop of the outbound route, in order to minimize the time and distance that trucks are driven empty.
