Equifax, Inc. has entered into an alliance with Initiate Systems, Inc. to offer software and services related to master data management (MDM). Equifax is a provider of global information systems. Initiate focuses on MDM products. Their deal calls for the combining of technology from Initiate with Equifax Commercial Information Solutions. Supported by the Initiate Master Data Service platform, the offering embeds Equifax's global commercial data-management database with information on more than 45 million businesses worldwide. Through the relationship, companies can match customer and supplier records from disparate sources to a unique, nine-digit identifier called the EFX ID. It links an organization's divisions, subsidiaries and locations into a global tree, resulting in a single, comprehensive view of customer and supplier information across multiple data sources. In addition, the partners said, businesses can integrate Equifax data services with internal data about their own customers, resulting in better decision-making.
