Supply Chain Consultants (SCC) has added an inventory-management module to its Zemeter suite of software. Dubbed Inventory Analyzer, it provides users with a scientific means of identifying pockets of non-productive inventory. The tool shows which inventories can be cut, and how much money can be saved in the process, all without harming customer service, SCC claimed. Savings can be quantified at flexible levels of aggregation. Executives get a clear, "bird's-eye view" of total cash reductions that are achievable across materials and plants. The module, available to SCC customers immediately, updates inventory status and tracks progress against reduction targets on a continuous basis. SCC's Zemeter software helps manufacturers to plan demand, production and replenishment; manage inventories, and schedule operations.
