Logility Inc. has released version 8 of Logility Voyager Solutions, the company's supply-chain management software suite. The new product contains a number of enhancements, including improved access to information, new optimization tools and procurement optimization features. The vendor's recent acquisition of Optiant's inventory-optimization software has been fully integrated into the Logility suite. The tool enables companies to perform multi-echelon inventory optimization across the entire supply chain, according to Logility. In addition, customers can draw on manufacturing optimization features to match available equipment with variable demand. The software highlights specific equipment utilization, identifies bottleneck resources and determines the impact of changeovers on overall capacities. Buyers can develop purchase plans tied to return-on-investment calculations. The suite includes more than 100 planning arrays. Users can more accurately forecast the impact of new-product introductions as well as plan for product phase-outs, Logility said. Additional capabilities include sales and operations planning, and transportation and logistics optimization.
