Amber Road, the vendor of global trade-management software, has released version 3.0 of Trade Planner. The scenario-based planning tool helps companies to evaluate alternative sourcing and distribution strategies, from the standpoint of total landed cost and international trade regulations. Trade Planner allows for the comparison of costs related to the sourcing and distributing of one or more products to multiple locations. Users can import product descriptions, classify products and store classifications by country in product repositories. Trade Planner is fully integrated with Amber Roads' Global Trade Content. It supports classification by harmonized schedules and export control numbers for more than 122 countries, identifying all applicable embargoes, prohibitions, license requirements and other product-specific barriers to importing and exporting. Trade Planner 3.0 is offered as an on-demand application.
