Epicor Software Corp. announced several new or updated products, at the vendor's Perspectives 2010 user conference in Orlando, Fla. The specialist in business software for the mid-market and divisions of global 1000 companies has made generally available its Epicor Mobile Sales Assistant. The tool is the latest addition to the Epicor Mobile product line. It provides complete sales and fulfillment workflow processes, with the aim of improving the alignment of mobile devices and business operations. It is designed for sales and distribution field workers who require real-time visibility of inventory, pricing, stock availability and customer-specific data. Epicor further announced an enhanced "Enterprise 2.0" strategy, designed to provide customers with the benefits of social technologies along with enterprise applications. The offering involves the combination of the Epicor 9 enterprise resource planning (ERP) application and Microsoft SharePoint 2010. The new Epicor Retail Loss Prevention Services offering is designed to aid retailers in the prevention of shrink. They can analyze department needs, develop realistic budgets and implement effective loss-prevention processes. Epicor has also unveiled the latest version of the Epicor Retail Store suite. The tool functions as a point-of-sale (POS) backbone for specialty, mass-merchandise and department-store retailers. Version 6.3 offers a number of new features, including integration with Enterprise Selling orders, user interface and messaging to support real-time visibility to inventory across a chain, and the ability to reserve items for pickup or shipping to customers. A new Cross-Country Returns feature enables the purchase of an item in one country or currency, and the return in another currency.
