Customers of McLeod Software can now install the beta version of a newly integrated asset-tracking and management module from SkyBitz. The latter is a provider of remote asset-tracking and information-management systems. McLeod is a vendor of transportation-management software. Under the new partnership between the two companies, users acquire visibility within McLeod's LoadMaster of enhanced SkyBitz trailer information, such as door opened or closed, cargo empty or loaded, and trailer motion started or stopped. The combined offering aids in the management of trailer assets by providing visibility to the status and location of trailers with the LoadMaster system. Users can determine when loads have been delivered to unplanned locations. They can also gain better control of trailers being utilized by their customers for unauthorized loads, through the use of exception-based reporting. Previously, they only had visibility to SkyBitz-generated trailer positions within LoadMaster. The enhancements allow users to identify the availability of trailers within the greatest proximity for a load pickup, the companies said.
