Epicor Software Corp. has developed Epicor Carbon Connect, a carbon-accounting application delivered under the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model. The tool helps companies to identify, analyze, audit, track, manage, benchmark and report on their carbon emissions, energy consumption and overall environmental impacts. Used in tandem with utility invoices and production schedules contained within Epicor's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, Carbon Connect can calculate expected emissions outputs and budgets. The product is scheduled for release in December, 2010, in both on-demand and on-premise versions, as part of Epicor's ERP suite. Carbon Connect will also be available for all other Epicor products as an Extend application. In another company announcement, Epicor has delivered Epicor Tax Connect 1099, a "cloud"-based tax reporting and processing tool. It provides comprehensive 1099 tax-preparation reporting and research to ensure the filing of accurate and timely returns. Tax Connect 1099, another Epicor Extend application, is delivered on-demand for use with Epicor customers' existing on-premise ERP environments.
