Pitney Bowes Inc. is expanding its shipping services portfolio to include SendSuite Live. The Web services-based tool offers global logistics management in the North American shipping market. According to the company, the platform can help customers to streamline logistics processes, reduce business risk and realize cost savings on a global scale. SendSuite Live provides access to a wide range of global parcel and freight carriers' rates and services. It offers origin point shipping for international shipping and cross-border rating and consolidation. It also aids in promoting carrier, vendor and regulatory compliance, covering such regimes as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and various export requirements. The tool integrates with internal enterprise resource planning, warehouse management system and customer relationship management applications. Integration allows companies to track mailing and shipping costs throughout their organizations. The system's desktop capability enables both on-site and remote employees access to rate shopping with carriers, while providing company-specific negotiated carrier rates. The technology integrates with cloud-based applications to deliver a broad range of transportation-management services, Pitney Bowes said. SendSuite Live was developed through an agreement with Pierbridge, Inc., a software development firm specializing in supply-chain processes, customized for small to medium-sized businesses.
