The company also helps customers to meet U.K. Revenue & Customs requirements for imports and exports to be managed through an approved inventory-control system for seven seaports and two airports. Price of the acquisition was approximately $2.8m. In addition, Descartes has acquired e-customs Inc., a U.K.-based provider of electronic security and fiscal customs filing services. The company’s Webdecs tool provides shippers and logistics service providers with a range of customs capabilities, to support compliance with fiscal and security filing requirements. Traders can draw on default and client-specific standing data, declaration templates, historical filings, on-screen tips and system validations. Price of the e-customs deal was approximately $9m, Descartes said.
