Mentor Engineering has issued upgrades to Intellifleet, its automated dispatch system for day-to-day management of taxi organizations. The modularly designed software provides call takers, dispatchers and system administrators with a comprehensive set of tools for performing the job with efficiency and accuracy, Mentor said. The latest release allows IntelliFleet users to benefit from the increased sophistication of Mentor Ranger in-vehicle computers. Ranger features a high-resolution color touch screen, turn-by-turn navigation capabilities, magnetic card swipe, taximeter and rubberized exterior. Equipped with an internal modem, Ranger can operate over private two-way radio or public cellular networks. Another new addition to Intellifleet is the IntelliRouter interface module. It streamlines the call-assignment process for companies operating a paratransit fleet, or partnering with municipal or third-party paratransit organizations. Managers can monitor paratransit rides in real time, automatically price rides according to the service provided, and generate daily trip reports. Operators are now equipped with Intellifleet Dashboard, a small window on their screens which provides a real-time overview of vehicle and trip status. The Intellifleet upgrades are free to existing clients.
