Dassault Systemes, a vendor of product lifecycle management (PLM) software, has launched the latest release of its new platform, dubbed V6R2010. The action introduces 42 new V6 products supporting multi-industry business processes, as well as a new tool, V6 PLM Express, designed for mid-sized companies and small teams within large organizations. V6R2010 includes new direct modeling capabilities and realistic simulation programs for non-experts. In the area of high-tech, the application enables original equipment manufacturers and electronics manufacturing service companies to create effective sourcing strategies and ensure product and component compliance, Dassault said. For shipbuilding and energy, V6R2010 offers a number of dedicated advanced authoring applications, including equipment catalogs, tubing and piping, through the V6 collaborative platform. For life sciences, it enables the management of complex medical devices and new quality requirements. For consumer packaged goods, V6R2010 introduces an ENOVIA CPG Accelerator, which integrates components and formula raw materials for comprehensive product definition. Other new features are aimed at consumer goods, automotive and aerospace customers.
