SAP AG has released feature pack 2.0 for SAP Business ByDesign, a tool for helping mid-sized companies to boost visibility across their operations. Available via an on-demand delivery model, Business ByDesign can reduce overall information-technology costs associated with infrastructure, equipment and software management, the vendor said. The new feature pack expands the application's functionality and offers business support for 35 process scenarios. The tool integrates with software from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio, including Crystal Reports software and dashboards from Xcelsius. The dashboards provide a number of key performance indicators (KPIs), such as cash and liquidity management, and sales projections. The KPIs can be customized to allow executives to control key corporate measures, SAP says. In addition, feature pack 2.0 integrates with customer relationship management, order-to-cash with automated billing, project profitability and resource management, time and expense reimbursement, procure to pay, and service and repair. Manufacturers get visibility across their supply chains, including suppliers, customers, manufacturing and logistics. They can deploy an automated request-for-quotation process for strategic procurement.
